Finding Your Purpose

If you're reading this, take your right hand and place it over your chest. Do you feel that beating under there? That's purpose.  You see, each day God allows our eyes to open, He does so with the intention of us acquiring knowledge, using wisdom, and getting a greater understanding as to why we are here.

Understand, as you walk through this valley called life, you will encounter trials and tribulations that will push you closer and closer to into it. From a child I was always helping those around me to be the best version of themselves but what had I gone through to qualify me to speak on such different levels? Then it happened. God allowed turmoil to brew in my life until it finally hit me. Just imagine being married, divorced, losing both parents, losing a child, and dealing with two children diagnosed with special needs all in less than ten years AND still being under 30 years old? God used those experiences to push and qualify me into my purpose of strengthening, empowering, and encouraging woman as I am today.

What life lessons have you gone through that will help you strengthen someone else? For you, it could be planning the most prominent event you've ever seen. For someone else, it could be their legal experience navigating through the court systems. That's the great thing about purpose.

1. You usually have no expertise in the field or formal training.
2. God gives it to each one of us liberally.
3. We decide when to activate it in our lifetime.

If you haven't figured yours out yet, let me help you jumpstart the process. To make this as effective as possible, be as honest with yourself as possible.

1. Create a list of positive things that you enjoy doing.
2. Rate them in order from most to least.
3. Is the number one thing something you fantasize about more than anything?
4. Take the risk and believe in yourself to start.

Let me share this last little word of advice before I go. It won't be as easy as 1-2-3. You'll have some days where you'll want to quit but the end result of seeing others smile and realizing you made the difference will make it all worth it.

Stay blessed
