Gift (noun) something given; the act of giving; talent
Giver (verb) to present; to hand to someone; to grant to someone; to utter, to provide; to yield
It seems as though society has lost the concept behind the message “Lord, bless the gift and the giver.” Gifts are not necessarily the material items we pass from one person to another. Let us get out of this mindset for a minute. Any amount of wisdom imparted into an individual is considered a gift. I have taken what has been given unto me and passed it unto you. Often the act of giving is taken for granted and never reciprocated which causes a spiritual pull on the giver. Yes, according to His word (and ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power-Col 2:10) the giver is well equipped, but as a believer you never want to take this for granted. The reason we ask the Lord to bless the gift and the giver is because this is a form of ministry. We don’t want them to constantly give without the replenishment or renewing of the strength God has given them. Next time someone shares there testimony, or even sends a quick word of encouragement ask God to bless the gift and the giver with a greater understanding of the reason.
